The DJIA closed up 0.1%, while reports that OpenAI's annualized revenue was only close to USD50 billion weighed down on chip stocks, with the Nasdaq closing down 1.3% and the S&P 500 also down by nearly 0.5%. This morning (9th), the HSI opened at 23,941, up 155 points or 0.65%; the HSCEI opened at 8,057, up 46 points or 0.58%; and the HSTECH opened at 4,085, up 11 points or 0.29%. Among major techs, TENCENT (00700.HK) picked up 0.88%; BABA-W (09988.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), BIDU-W (09888.HK) and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) added less than 1%; while JD-SW (09618.HK) rose 1.14%. Financials thrived, with ICBC (01398.HK), AIA (01299.HK), CCB (00939.HK), PING AN (02318.HK), BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK) and HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) up more than 1%.
