CPCA: CN Exports 638,000 Vehicles to Russia in 8M26; LI AUTO-W, Zeekr, VOYAH AUTO Outshine
2026-10-05 15:29:43 Russia's vehicle sales numbered 124,000 units in August, down 8% YoY, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), said. Vehicle sales in Russia totaled 920,000 units in 8M26, representing a relatively high level and rising 6% YoY. China exported 96,700 vehicles to Russia in August, while sales of Chinese domestic brands in Russia reached 65,000 units. Local sales accounted for 68% of China's exports. In 8M26, China exported 638,000 vehicles to Russia, while sales of Chinese domestic brands in Russia reached 500,000 units. Local sales accounted for 78% of China's exports, reflecting an overall relatively balanced situation. Facing the complex environment in Russia, the strategy of deploying multiple domestic brands carries significant importance. Chinese domestic brands simultaneously adopted various approaches including official vehicle exports, parallel exports, indirect exports, localized manufacturing and joint-venture assembly. The multi-brand strategy yielded strong results. Chinese domestic NEV sales generally performed well in the Russian auto market, particularly high-end models such as range-extended plug-in hybrids, which effectively replaced European and US luxury vehicles. Among NEV brands, LI AUTO-W (02015.HK), Zeekr and VOYAH AUTO (07489.HK) outshone.
