CN National Day Holiday Travel Charging Peak Draws Complaints Over BYD COMPANY and LI AUTO-W Supercharging Services
2026-10-05 12:41:52 During the Mainland's National Day Golden Week travel and charging peak, consumers complained about the supercharging services of multiple EV brands, including BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)'s flash charging being unable to fully charge vehicles, as well as LI AUTO-W (02015.HK)'s charging stations allegedly adopting "double standards", according to Sina Tech. Some BYD COMPANY vehicle owners said the actual charging capability of the brand's flash charging service was insufficient, and whether flash charging could be achieved depended entirely on the status of the energy storage cabinet. BYD COMPANY customer service explained that prolonged charging times could be caused by insufficient power reserves in the energy storage cabinet. During holidays, the larger number of users may prevent the cabinet from replenishing energy in a timely manner. To achieve flash charging, the charging gun must reach a power output of 1,500 kilowatts, while the energy storage cabinet replenishes energy autonomously and currently cannot be manually controlled. Meanwhile, LI AUTO-W owners said non-LI AUTO-W brand vehicles could only be charged to a maximum of 80% or 85%, while LI AUTO-W's EREV models could be charged to 90%, and its BEV and 5C EREV models could directly charge up to 95%. LI AUTO-W customer service staff stated that charging speeds for all power batteries become increasingly slower after reaching 80%. During holidays, slow charging would prevent other customers from accessing chargers. Therefore, during long holidays such as National Day and the Spring Festival, in order to serve more vehicles, charging limits at different LI AUTO-W charging stations would be adjusted according to station saturation levels, generally using standards of 80%, 90%, and 95%. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
