2026-10-05 10:28:54 Macau's National Day Golden Week got off to a strong start, Citi said in a research report. Citing data from the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the broker said the total number of visitor arrivals to Macau reached 540,549 in the first three days of this year's National Day Golden Week, representing a YoY hike of about 12% and topping the MGTO's late-September forecast of 150,000 visitors per day. Mainland visitors represented about 86% of total arrivals in the first three days, around 4 ppts higher than in 2025. MGTO estimated border traffic to peak on Oct 3 and 4. The broker reiterated its forecast for Macau's Oct 2026 GGR at MOP25 billion, up 4% YoY. This implies a conservative average daily GGR of about MOP1.05 billion during the Golden Week period, around 5% lower than the level indicated by industry sources for the first five days of Oct 2025, followed by about MOP900 million for the subsequent four days, which were expected to be supported by the NBA China Games, and about MOP703 million for the remaining days. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
