2026-09-28 14:38:16 US bipartisan lawmakers proposed a bill to prohibit the federal government from using Chinese-made optical communication products in sensitive government systems to transmit data for AI data centers, and listed ZJ INNOLIGHT (03308.HK) and Eoptolink as restricted suppliers. ZJ INNOLIGHT deepened losses in the afternoon session, once falling 12% to a trough of HKD1,030. The stock last stood at HKD1,036, down 11.53%, with turnover of 1.4406 million shares involving HKD1.551 billion. YOFC (06869.HK) last trades at HKD156.8, down 15.92%, with turnover of 27.4063 million shares involving HKD4.507 billion. CIG (06166.HK) last printed at HKD103.8, slumping 10.29%. The bill has heaped pressure on Chinese optical communication manufacturers. In a statement, bipartisan lawmakers said the US should not rely on China for technologies related to national security, stressing that critical government communications and information systems must be secure, reliable and free from any foreign interference.
