2026-09-28 09:41:27
HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)'s HSBC and Hang Seng Bank will standardize their employee benefits framework in Hong Kong from next year, establishing unified standards for benefits at the two banks and promoting internal career mobility in Hong Kong, according to an internal memo cited by the South China Morning Post.

According to an email from Maggie Ng, CEO of HSBC Hong Kong, most existing benefits will be improved or remain unchanged. HSBC employees will switch to a standardized sick leave system, with the maximum accumulation of sick leave capped at 180 days. In addition, the group will raise hospitalization medical coverage limits for junior and mid-level employees and their families, and add a family-sharing option for flexible medical spending accounts.

Hang Seng Bank's medical coverage will be migrated to HSBC's existing "HealthPlus" plan, covering inpatient and outpatient services. Life insurance coverage will also be increased to a level equivalent to 84 times monthly base salary, although the previous multiple was not disclosed.
