Micron May Replace NVIDIA as Biggest Driver of S&P 500 Earnings Growth
2026-09-28 09:17:00 Micron Technology, Inc. (MU.US) may soon steal the spotlight from NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US), highlighting its growing significance to the broader stock market. The memory chipmaker is set to report earnings on Wednesday. Analysts tracked by FactSet expect its EPS for the August quarter to skyrocket 940% YoY. Spurred by the AI boom, memory chip supply has remained tight and prices elevated, fueling the company's earnings growth. If analysts' forecasts prove accurate, it would mark the first time in at least two and a half years that Micron has exceled NVIDIA and other large-cap tech peers to become the largest contributor to S&P 500 earnings growth, according to data from Seaport Research Partners. Micron's stock price has grossed a 279% upsurge so far this year, although trading has been volatile over the past three months. The company has a market cap of USD1.2 trillion, and its results are viewed as an important indicator of AI demand. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
