Trump Reportedly Plans to Resume Bombing Iran After US Midterm Elections in Nov

New York oil futures slumped by a total of 7.9% last week. The US and Iran held sideline talks during the United Nations General Assembly last week.

However, US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's proposal for a seven-day ceasefire and is expected to resume bombing Iran after the US midterm elections in November, Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials.

It remains unclear what scale of strikes Trump is considering. Trump is reluctant to resume large-scale military operations, partly because the US wants to preserve its dwindling ammunition stockpiles for other unexpected events.
