It closed the half-day session at 24,891, up 140 points or 0.57%, with half-day turnover of HKD108.486 billion. The HSCEI closed midday at 8,283, up 58 points or 0.71%, while the HSTECH closed at 4,400, down slightly by 5 points or 0.12%. Major techs headed north broadly against the market trend. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) rallied 3.86% after the company announced it will launch the "Xiaomi 18 Pro Series" at 7pm on Wednesday evening; TENCENT (00700.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) gained about 1.7%; BIDU-W (09888.HK) climbed 1.38%; NTES (09999.HK) added nearly 1%; and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) rose 0.75%. Innovative drug makers spiked on the back of state policy support. SBP GROUP (01177.HK), which had its TP raised by BofA Securities, surged 8.68%, becoming the best-performing blue chip at midday. WUXI BIO (02269.HK) and CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) were named top picks by Citi, with the two stocks leaping 5.46% and 7.05% respectively. AKESO (09926.HK) jumped up 8.67%, while GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) rocketed 4.78%. WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK), INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK), BEONE MEDICINES (06160.HK), LEPU BIO (02157.HK), KEYMED BIO-B (02162.HK), JUNSHI BIO (01877.HK) and LUYE PHARMA (02186.HK) each closed the half-day session up 2%+ to 9%+. Among other blue chips, LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) was the worst performer, closing the half-day session down 5.64%.
