CN Reportedly Tames Humanoid Robot IPO Boom, Scrutinizes Whether Soaring Valuations Reflect Genuine Commercial Demand
2026-09-21 12:16:49
Chinese regulators are taming the IPO boom of humanoid robot companies and are closely scrutinizing whether surging corporate valuations and revenue linked to local government-backed projects reflect genuine commercial demand, Reuters, citing sources, reported.

The slowdown in IPO approvals was reportedly spurred by dramatic share volatility following the listing of YUSHU TECHNOLOGY (688836.SH). The company's stock soared more than 5x on its Shanghai debut one month ago before retreating 55% from its peak.

Regulators purportedly used informal window guidance to slow down some humanoid robot listings. One source said humanoid robot IPOs have effectively been temporarily frozen.

At least six Chinese humanoid robot companies are preparing for listings, including Deep Robotics, X Square Robot and AgiBot. Regulators are particularly focused on whether revenue generated through local government-supported projects is sustainable.
