10 CN Ministries Issue Pharma Industry '15th 5Y' Plan, Targeting Revenue of No Less Than RMB3.5T by 2030
2026-09-18 12:23:42 China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and nine other departments issued the "15th Five-Year" Plan for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, stating that by 2030, the research, development and application of biopharmaceuticals should remain among the world's leading ranks, with innovation-driven efficiency fully unleashed and systematic breakthroughs achieved in key core technologies in major fields. The effectiveness of digital and intelligent empowerment across the entire industry chain will become evident, while the precision medicine system will efficiently support the comprehensive prevention and treatment of major diseases. The ecosystem for coordinated factors of production will become increasingly mature, and room for industry development will continue to expand. Production and supply capabilities will be solidly secured, with core competitiveness and international influence significantly enhanced, deeply integrating into the global pharmaceutical innovation collaboration network. The biopharmaceutical industry will accelerate into becoming a new strategic pillar industry for the country, continuously safeguarding and improving public health and strongly supporting the implementation of the strategies of building a manufacturing powerhouse and Healthy China, while contributing industrial strength to national security and the global health community. The plan proposed 10 expected indicators, including revenue of industrial pharmaceutical enterprises above designated size reaching no less than RMB3.5 trillion by 2030, the proportion of first-in-class innovative drugs (FIC) accounting for no less than 25% globally, the number of innovative drugs launched ranking among the world's leaders, cumulative launches of no fewer than 200 innovative medical devices, annual average growth of no less than 20% for the innovative drug industry scale, 50 pharmaceutical industrial enterprises with annual revenue exceeding RMB10 billion, 20 pharmaceutical industrial parks at the RMB100 billion level, and no fewer than five products with global annual sales exceeding USD1 billion. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
