HSI Opens Up 119 pts; Chip, Resource Stocks Gain; Z.AI, MINIMAX-W Each Open 3%+ Higher

The HSI opened up 119 pts or 0.5% at 24,723. The HSCEI opened up 27 pts or 0.3% at 8,202. The HSTECH opened up 17 pts or 0.41% at 4,328.

Major active stocks traded mixed at the open. BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 1.237% higher this morning. TENCENT (00700.HK) opened 0.469% higher. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) was nearly flat. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) opened flat. JD-SW (09618.HK) opened down 0.2%.

On the news front, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) plans to establish three vehicle assembly plants and one electric vehicle battery factory in Europe, but its share price came under pressure this morning, opening down 1.91%.

Among blue chips and key sectors, semiconductor and metal mining stocks delivered strong opening performance. HUA HONG GRACE (01347.HK) opened up 2.813%. SMIC (00981.HK) opened 2.484% higher. ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) opened up 2.481%. CHINA SHENHUA (01088.HK) soared 2.46% at the open, and LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) opened 2.479% higher. In contrast, some auto and consumer blue chips waned, with GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) down 2.062% and TINGYI (00322.HK) down 1.944% at the open.

Among individual movers, NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK) plans to spin off its Shanghai properties and list them locally through commercial public REITs, boosting its share price by 1.46% at the open. XUNCE (03317.HK) plans to cooperate with a Shanghai state-owned capital fund to explore the development of an AI and Token-native investment portfolio ecosystem, with its shares opening 2.18% higher this morning. Z.AI (02513.HK) opened 3.6% higher, whereas MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) opened 3.9% higher.
