Saudi Arabia Said to Plan Hiking Oil Exports via Hormuz After Attack on Key Pipeline
2026-09-15 10:26:08
After a key pipeline of Saudi Aramco was attacked, Saudi Arabia is seeking to further increase oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz, as a series of attacks has pushed Brent oil futures close to USD110 per barrel, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported.

Saudi Arabia has currently shut down the East-West pipeline, which is the main route helping the country bypass Hormuz disruptions triggered by the Iran war. The pipeline is reportedly expected to remain out of service for several weeks.

Over the past few weeks, a fleet of more than 10 Saudi Arabian vessels has started gathering in waters outside Hormuz. Satellite images showed that tanker loading volumes at Saudi Arabia's main export terminal in the Persian Gulf increased over the past few days.

It remains unclear to what extent and how quickly Saudi Aramco can raise shipments through Hormuz to offset the impact of the pipeline shutdown.
