2026-09-14 12:39:27 This morning (14th), the HSI opened down 104 pts before reverting up. At midday, the index closed at 24,893, up 87 pts or 0.35%, with half-day turnover at HKD107.018 billion. The HSCEI concluded at 8,279, up 33 pts or 0.4%, while the HSTECH ended at 4,327, up 7 pts or 0.17%. Among major techs, XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) jumped up 2.88%; TENCENT (00700.HK) turned north by 0.84%; BIDU-W (09888.HK) climbed 1.01%; BABA-W (09988.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) lost more than 1%; and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) dropped 0.73%. Among AI concept stocks, Z.AI (02513.HK) slumped 7.25% after raising more than RMB70 billion through two share placements and bond issuances within less than 10 months since listing; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) shrank 5.56%; and XUNCE (03317.HK) plunged 3.32%. For other blue chips, LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) spiked 4.6% after its quarterly x86 server shipments ranked first globally for the first time; CHINA UNICOM (00762.HK) rallied 4.38%; LONGFOR GROUP (00960.HK) tumbled 2.91%; and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) slid 2.89%. Pharmaceuticals led gains. SBP GROUP (01177.HK) soared 3.52% after the company spent RMB4.48 billion to acquire an additional 5% stake in Chia Tai Tianqing from its chairman, with Goldman Sachs raising its TP. WUXI XDC (02268.HK), WUXI BIO (02269.HK) and WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) each mounted more than 4%. BEONE MEDICINES (06160.HK) and INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) each rallied more than 2%. Hong Kong financials had a good run.
