HSI Closes Down 148 pts; XIAOMI-W Up 1%+; MINIMAX-W Dives 7.5%; ZIJIN MINING Sags 6.7%

The HSI closed at 24,805, down 148 pts or 0.6%, with full-day turnover at HKD228.431 billion, marking a fifth consecutive daily decline. The HSCEI closed at 8,246, down 28 pts or 0.34%. The HSTECH closed at 4,320, down 9 pts or 0.23%.

Among heavyweight techs, XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) ended up 1.7% after CLSA forecast revenue and earnings to bottom out this quarter. TENCENT (00700.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) added by less than 1%.

Among blue chips, LAOPU GOLD (06181.HK) plunged 4.64%; LINK REIT (00823.HK) dived 2.02%; LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) closed down nearly 3%; CNOOC (00883.HK) shrank 2.56%; SBP GROUP (01177.HK) slumped 4.2%; while OOIL (00316.HK) jumped up 2.27% against the market trend.

AI concept stocks continued to decline after DeepSeek cut prices for its new model to attract customers. Z.AI (02513.HK) lost 3.17%; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) plunged 7.53%; and XUNCE (03317.HK) tumbled 5.16%.

The White House had yet to decide on tariffs for refined copper triggered selling in Hong Kong-listed non-ferrous metal stocks. JIANGXI COPPER (00358.HK) plunged 9.19%; CMOC (03993.HK) stumbled 7.73%, making it the worst-performing blue chip of the day; ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) cratered 6.75%; MMG (01208.HK) slipped 8.2%; and CHINFMINING (01258.HK) collapsed 4.51%.
