AmCham Shanghai Survey: US Firms More Optimistic on CN Outlook as Biz Confidence Recovers
2026-09-10 09:24:07 Amid improved profitability and de-fusing US-China tensions, American companies in China have become more optimistic about the outlook, with business confidence rebounding after remaining at historic lows for four consecutive years, a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (AmCham Shanghai) revealed. Some 58% of respondents were optimistic about China's outlook over the next five years, up 17 ppts from last year. Around 78% of surveyed companies recorded profits last year, marking the highest proportion since 2019. Since US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping reached a tariff agreement in October last year, US-China relations have stabilized, while the two leaders are also preparing to meet in Washington later this month. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
