Trump Says Oil/ Gas Prices Will Not Fall Until Shortly After Midterm Elections
2026-09-10 09:08:33 US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that energy prices, which remain elevated owing to the war with Iran, will not decline until after the midterm elections. Before departing for Texas to attend a Republican midterm election convention, Trump told reporters that shortly after the election, oil prices will fall substantially. The war with Iran has entered its seventh month. Although there are no clear signs of a resolution, Trump insisted it would end immediately after the election. When asked about the basis for his prediction, Trump said that they can no longer hold out. Trump had previously claimed victory multiple times in the ongoing conflict.
