Scott Bessent: Iran Has Only 30M Barrels of Crude Oil Left for Sale; Econ Pressure Measures Working
2026-09-07 09:13:16 US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent estimated that Iran has only a limited amount of crude oil left for sale to its main customer China, while Iran's crude oil reserves are running low, indicating that the US economic pressure campaign is proving effective. He said that the amount of unsold Iranian crude oil available to China is estimated at only about 30 million barrels, and these supplies are expected to be depleted soon. At that point, China's purchases of Iranian crude oil would no longer pose an issue. Meanwhile, the US blockade on Iranian ports has also made it difficult for the country to export any goods, reflecting that US sanctions are hurting Iran's economy. Bessent also reiterated comments by US President Donald Trump, stressing that the US currently has full control of the Strait of Hormuz. In addition, Gulf countries are studying alternative pipeline routes so that oil can be exported safely without passing through Hormuz. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
