CN Approves Filing of 3 National Standards for Solid-State Batteries; Draft for Public Consultation Expected by Year-end
2026-09-04 17:10:44 Wang Fang, chief scientist at China Automotive Technology and Research Center, revealed that three national standards under the "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles" series - performance specifications, safety specifications and lifespan specifications - have been approved for filing, with draft consultation papers expected to be released by the end of this year, Chinese media reported. The "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles" standards series reportedly consists of four parts in total. According to the National Public Service Platform for Standards Information, "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles Part 1: Terminology and Classification" was released on August 28, 2026 and will take effect on January 1, 2028. The remaining three parts of the standards series, namely the performance, safety and lifespan specifications mentioned by Wang, are currently in the drafting stage. The standards series incorporates views from industry participants including leading automakers and battery manufacturers.
