CPCA: Revenue of Mainstream Listed CN Carmakers Rises Only 5% YoY in 1H, Entering Low-Growth Stock Competition Phase
2026-09-04 16:46:31
China's auto industry was undergoing deep transformation and intense inventory competition in 1H26, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), said.

As the penetration rate of NEVs continued to rise, the industry as a whole showed a pattern of "revenue growth without profit growth" and "stark contrast". Although revenue of domestic carmakers maintained growth, the pace of growth slowed drastically, and the scale gap with international giants remained.

Revenue of mainstream listed Chinese carmakers reached RMB1.29 trillion in 1H26, up only 5% YoY, indicating entry into a low-growth inventory competition phase. International carmakers posted a combined RMB3.28 trillion in revenue, flat YoY.

Structurally, NEV makers led the gains, with GEELY AUTO (00175.HK), LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK), SERES (09927.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) recording doubled results, while traditional major manufacturers such as SAIC MOTOR (600104.SH), BAIC MOTOR (01958.HK) and FAW JIEFANG (000800.SZ) came under pressure and posted decreases.
