2026-09-04 16:39:19 This morning (4th), the HSI opened up 302 pts; with widened gains, it once soared more than 578 pts to a peak of 25,791. The HSI closed the day at 25,650, up 437 pts or 1.74%, with main board turnover at HKD276.857 billion. The HSCEI concluded at 8,555, up 169 pts or 2.02%. The HSTECH ended at 4,569, up 101 pts or 2.27%. Major dotcoms advanced broadly. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) spiked 5.28%; BIDU-W (09888.HK) jumped up 4.81%; XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) rallied more than 3%; while KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK), TENCENT (00700.HK) and NTES (09999.HK) each added more than 2%. Among blue chips, LONGFOR GROUP (00960.HK) was the best performer, closing up 8.4% after reports said the company had sufficient funds to repay a RMB1.3 billion bank loan due later this month. LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) mounted 6.09% after partnering with automation platform Workato to enhance the functions of its Qira AI assistant. WUXI BIO (02269.HK) fell off 3%. As to crowdedly traded stocks, Saudi AI company HUMAIN developed the Arabic frontier model humain-m3 based on MINIMAX-W (00100.HK)'s M3, sending MINIMAX-W up 1.8%. Z.AI (02513.HK) bucked the market and slid nearly 3% after HSBC Global Investment Research said competition in the LLM market was escalating. For individual stocks, HUA HONG GRACE (01347.HK) was added to the blue-chip index after market close today, but its share price dived 8.43%. GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) stumbled 13.33% after proposing a spin-off and separate listing of ProBio.
