HSI Rallies 524 pts at Half-day; MEITUAN-W Up 4%+; MINIMAX-W, LENOVO GROUP Up 5%+

This morning (4th), the HSI opened up 302 pts before extending gains, once soaring 578 pts to a peak of 25,791. At midday, the index concluded at 25,737, up 524 pts or 2.08%, with half-day turnover at HKD134.584 billion. The HSCEI closed at 8,572, up 187 pts or 2.23%. The HSTECH finished at 4,580, up 112 pts or 2.51%.

Major dotcoms were broadly higher, with MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) outshining and leaping 4.57% at midday. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BIDU-W (09888.HK) shot up more than 4%; JD-SW (09618.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK) and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) swelled more than 3%; while TENCENT (00700.HK) and NTES (09999.HK) each advanced about 2.8%.

For blue chips, LONGFOR GROUP (00960.HK) performed best, closing up 9.17% at midday. Market rumors said the company stated it already has sufficient funds to repay a RMB1.3 billion bank loan due later this month and expected to have the ability to repay a USD bond due next year. LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) escalated 5.11% after partnering with automation platform Workato to enhance the functions of its Qira AI assistant. HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) jumped up 2.45%, while CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) rallied 3.34%.

Among actively traded stocks, Saudi AI company HUMAIN developed the Arabic frontier model humain-m3 based on MINIMAX-W (00100.HK)'s M3, sending MINIMAX-W up 5.07% at midday. Z.AI (02513.HK) dipped 0.81% against the market trend. KB LAMINATES (01888.HK) and KINGBOARD HLDG (00148.HK) shrank more than 4%, while YOFC (06869.HK) lost 2.5%.
