CN MIIT Said to Stop Approving Newly Reported Lithium Battery Capacity in 2H
2026-08-25 14:37:55 China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will no longer approve newly reported lithium battery production capacity in 2H, with approvals for new capacity additions basically stalled in the short term, according to online rumors. A staff member from the MIIT responded that no related information could be found on the official website. Meanwhile, relevant executives of listed companies including WUXI LEAD (00470.HK) and GCL TECH (03800.HK) said they have not received such information. Liu Yong, Secretary General of the Energy Storage Application Branch of the China Industrial Association of Power Sources (CIAPS), said he was unclear about the authenticity of the news, but the MIIT may make corresponding adjustments and is unlikely to impose a blanket ban. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
