2026-08-13 16:31:13 This morning (13th), the HSI opened down 152 pts before briefly turning positive, while giving back gains near the close. The index ended at 25,396, down 43 pts or 0.17%, with full-day turnover of HKD263.71 billion. The HSTECH closed at 4,792, up 15 pts or 0.33%. The HSCEI concluded at 8,426, down 19 pts or 0.23%. Major active techs were broadly under pressure. TENCENT (00700.HK) slid 4.46% after results, as brokers expressed concerns that its AI investment could affect short-term earnings. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) dipped more than 1%, while BIDU-SW (09888.HK) rose nearly 1%. Several blue chips advanced after announcing quarterly results. LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) was the best performer after brokers said its quarterly results were well above expectations. Its share price set an all-time high in the afternoon session, peaking at HKD35.46 before closing at HKD34.9, up 20.18%. TINGYI (00322.HK) rallied 6.75% after CLSA upgraded the stock to Outperform. CKI HOLDINGS (01038.HK) spiked 3.52% after charting a 389% leap in interim profit and receiving broker blessings. POWER ASSETS (00006.HK) also climbed 3.05%, with UBS saying results were broadly in line. GALAXY ENT (00027.HK) added 2.16% after Goldman Sachs said the increased interim dividend came as a positive surprise. Among other blue chips, POP MART (09992.HK), which again saw stake increase by Duan Yongping, jumped up 2.12%. CK ASSET (01113.HK) shot up 3.62%, while HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) hiked 1.48%.
