FWD Survey: 70%+ of Working HK Residents Rely on Corporate Group Medical Insurance
2026-08-13 15:38:56 A survey by FWD Hong Kong showed that more than 70% (71%) of respondents covered by employer-provided group medical insurance said they currently rely primarily on such protection, but less than 30% (29%) believed their group medical coverage was sufficient to meet actual medical expenses. Among them, only one in six respondents had purchased supplementary plans for their group medical insurance to fill the protection gap (17%). FWD interviewed more than 1,100 working individuals in Hong Kong aged between 25 and 65 during June to July 2026. In addition to insufficient protection during employment, the survey also found that 74% of respondents were concerned about having to bear high medical expenses on their own after retirement, reflecting widespread concerns among working individuals over medical cost burdens after leaving employment or retirement. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
