Shein Said to Launch HK IPO as Early as Mid-Aug, w/ Valuation at USD30-40B
2026-08-04 15:05:23
Shein began holding pre-IPO meetings with investors last week and is expected to kick off its Hong Kong IPO as early as mid-August, seeking a listing valuation of between USD30 billion and USD40 billion, Reuters, citing sources, reported.

This would put Shein's IPO valuation broadly in line with H&M's market cap of about USD26 billion, but well below FAST RETAIL-DRS (06288.HK) at about USD161 billion and Zara parent Inditex at about USD208 billion.

Shein has not previously publicly disclosed the IPO size, offer price or listing timetable. Its valuation has retreated from a peak of USD98.2 billion as marked in 2022, before falling to USD64 billion in private fundraising rounds in 2023 and April 2024.

Some potential cornerstone investors are pushing for Shein to list at a valuation closer to USD30 billion or USD32 billion, sources divulged. The company has held investor meetings in New York, Boston and San Francisco over the past week.
