Mideast Geopolitical Tensions: Paul Chan Says Overall Direction of Investment and Trade Relations Remains Intact
2026-07-24 15:24:33 Despite the conflict in the Middle East, Hong Kong's overall direction in maintaining investment and trade relations with the region remains intact, Financial Secretary Paul Chan said in an RTHK program. The Secretary plans to lead another delegation to Saudi Arabia later this year to explore further cooperation. Chan said the Middle East presents opportunities in many areas. In addition to the oil industry, the region also has ambitious economic diversification plans, bringing business opportunities for Hong Kong's construction, surveying, accounting, legal sectors and startups. Chan said more than 500 companies are applying for listing in Hong Kong, with a higher number of AI and autonomous driving companies. Hong Kong's listing regime will provide full support, while the Hong Kong Stock Exchange has increased manpower and resources to process listing applications in order to speed up approvals, while reiterating that it will continue to ensure the quality of listed companies. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
