10 CN Airlines and 5 Online Ticketing Platforms Incl. MEITUAN-W Summoned for Talks
2026-07-24 14:29:34 Following a joint special survey on consumer awareness of airline ticket overselling conducted by consumer associations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, authorities today (24th) held joint regulatory talks in Tianjin with 10 airlines, including AIR CHINA (00753.HK), CHINA SOUTH AIR (01055.HK), CHINA EAST AIR (00670.HK), as well as five online ticketing platforms including TONGCHENGTRAVEL (00780.HK), TRIP.COM-S (09961.HK), Fliggy, Qunar and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK). The companies were required to complete self-inspection and rectification measures before August 31. In addition, consumer associations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region proposed four rectification recommendations to the airlines and online ticketing platforms, including improving pre-purchase disclosures to protect passengers' right to information; optimizing on-site handling procedures and respecting passengers' right of choice; refining compensation support services to safeguard passengers' right to claims; and enhancing long-term complaint channels to improve passenger satisfaction. The consumer associations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region said that further measures will be taken in accordance with the law against companies with inadequate rectification efforts after the talks or those that continue to infringe consumer rights and interests. The associations will also continue strengthening full-process supervision to promote standardized service procedures among airlines and online ticketing platforms, effectively protect passengers' rights to information, choice and claims, and continuously improve order in the civil aviation consumer market. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
