CMBI: WAIC Focus Shifts from Digital World to Physical World; Development Prospects of TENCENT, BABA-W, Z.AI, MINIMAX-W Favored

CMBI released a research report summarizing three core trends at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC): first, continued deepening of exploration into AI infrastructure optimization; second, continued advancement of AI exploration from the digital world to the physical world; and third, continued commercialization of AI from applications to terminals, with comprehensive expansion of use-case exploration.

Regarding AI infrastructure, Huawei showcased the Ascend 950 super node offline, while BABA-W (09988.HK)'s T-Head Panjiu AL128 super node integrated 128 M890 chips in a single cabinet, the report mentioned.

In embodied intelligence, Ant Group's LingBot-VLA 2.0 was adapted to more than 20 robot configurations from 17 manufacturers including Leju, AgiBot and Unitree; JD-SW (09618.HK)'s JoyInside partnered with nearly 200 brands and planned to connect to more than 10 million terminal devices in 2026.

For large models, Moonshot AI released the open-source foundational model Kimi K3 with total parameters reaching 2.8T; StepFun showcased its Step series foundational model matrix; MINIMAX-W (00100.HK) demonstrated its flagship model M3.

On the AI application front, TENCENT (00700.HK)'s WorkBuddy launched a standalone app; BABA-W released Meoo Team Edition; SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) launched AI video generation application Seko 3.0.

The broker continued to be positive on the development prospects of TENCENT, BABA-W, Z.AI (02513.HK) and MINIMAX-W under the AI theme.
