CN 1H Solar Installation Capacity Down 66%; CPIA: Industry Entering More Sustainable Track
2026-07-23 12:47:21 The China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) said the industry is moving onto a more sustainable trajectory after policy changes led to a 66% decline in installation capacity in 1H26. Mainland solar manufacturers recorded immense losses over the past two years amid weakening domestic demand and overcapacity. The association broke with tradition at its annual conference in Ningbo on Thursday (23rd) by not updating its forecast for newly added installation capacity this year, according to foreign media reports.
