CN Releases New Version of National Essential Medicines List
2026-07-09 13:23:06 China's National Health Commission, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the National Administration of Disease Prevention and Control today (9th) released the 2026 version of the National Essential Medicines List. The revised list was updated from 685 medicines to 794 medicines, including 476 chemical drugs and biological products, as well as 318 traditional Chinese medicines, to better meet the basic medication needs for disease prevention and treatment among the public. Based on preliminary estimates, the medicines on the revised list account for 71% of the medicine usage volume equipped by public medical and healthcare institutions nationwide. Authorities stated that relevant departments will further promote the management of the allocation and use of essential medicines, enhance the standardized use capabilities of essential medicines, ensure that medical and healthcare institutions at all levels are properly equipped and able to use them effectively, facilitate medication continuity, and enable the public to access the same medicines used in major hospitals at nearby primary healthcare institutions. ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
