2026-06-30 17:18:25 The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced the results of the residential mortgage survey for May 2026. The number of mortgage applications in May increased month-on-month by 12.8% to 10,767. Mortgage loans approved in May increased by 10.1% compared with April to HK$40.2 billion. Among these, mortgage loans financing primary market transactions increased by 9.4% to HK$11.7 billion and those financing secondary market transactions increased by 9.1% to HK$23.8 billion. Mortgage loans for refinancing increased by 17.7% to HK$4.7 billion.
