Emirates NBD Reportedly In Talks to Acquire HSBC HOLDINGS's Turkiye Biz
2026-06-30 15:50:19 Emirates NBD PJSC of the UAE is in preliminary talks to acquire HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)'s Turkiye business, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported. An HSBC HOLDINGS spokesperson responded that the bank does not comment on market rumors. Emirates NBD has reportedly been seeking to expand its operations in Turkiye. As early as 2019, the bank acquired Denizbank, a major Turkish bank, from Russia's Sberbank. Since HSBC HOLDINGS CEO Georges Elhedery took office, the group has been striving to refocus its business on core markets.
