CN Reportedly Discourages Companies From Raising Funds Through Overseas Bond Issuance at Higher Yields
2026-06-30 10:48:39 China is discouraging companies from issuing bonds overseas at higher yields, as part of the latest measures to curb excessive debt accumulation by local government financing vehicles (LGFVs), Bloomberg, citing sources, reported. Chinese authorities in recent weeks have asked some Chinese banks to avoid underwriting offshore RMB notes with yields above 4% and USD bonds with yields above 5%, in order to reduce high-cost borrowing and excessive financing.
