Li Qiang Meets S Korea PM Kim Min-seok, Urges Expansion of Co-op in Emerging Industries
2026-06-24 09:51:01 Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok in Dalian yesterday afternoon (June 23), who is in China to attend the Summer Davos Forum. Li noted that China-South Korea trade cooperation holds humungous potential. China is willing to work with South Korea to make good use of mechanisms such as the Economic Ministers’ Meeting, accelerate the second-phase negotiations of the bilateral free trade agreement, and promote the expansion and upgrading of bilateral trade. Both sides have their respective strengths in innovation, with deeply integrated industrial and value chains, Li added. They can further enhance alignment and mutual integration, fully leverage complementary advantages, consolidate and optimize cooperation in traditional industries, and expand collaboration in emerging sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, new energy, and biopharmaceuticals, in order to seize new opportunities in innovation-driven development.
