China Evergrande's Liquidators Seek RMB57B from PricewaterhouseCoopers International

Liquidators of China Evergrande filed a lawsuit against PricewaterhouseCoopers International and its mainland and Hong Kong subsidiaries, seeking RMB57 billion (USD8.4 billion).

Of the total, RMB38 billion is being claimed jointly from PricewaterhouseCoopers International and two subsidiaries in Hong Kong and the mainland, while a separate RMB19 billion is being sought from the two Hong Kong and mainland subsidiaries alone.

The liquidators had initiated the lawsuit in 2024, alleging negligence and misrepresentation in PricewaterhouseCoopers' audit work.
