White House: Trump, Xi Discuss Expanding Agricultural Trade, Improving Oil Transportation

White House officials said US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed expanding agricultural trade and improving oil transportation during a summit, Bloomberg reported.

Trump emphasized that China needs to ramp up purchases of US agricultural products and curb the flow of fentanyl into the United States.

The two leaders also discussed maintaining the smooth passage of the Strait of Hormuz to support energy trade.

A White House official quoted Xi as saying that China opposes the militarization of Hormuz.
