CATHAY PAC AIR Adjusts Boarding and Gate Closure Times to Enhance Customer Travel Experience
2026-05-14 14:42:53 CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) is making some changes to its boarding and gate closure times as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering a seamless, reassuring and on-time travel experience for its customers. Effective 1 June 2026, boarding gates will close 15 minutes prior to departure for all Cathay Pacific flights, five minutes earlier than the current gate closure time. From the same date, flights departing from Hong Kong International Airport will also start boarding five minutes earlier. On-time performance is a key priority for its customers. One source of departure delays is late-arriving or no-show passengers, as safety requirements necessitate the offloading of their checked baggage from the aircraft hold. This can lead to delays and impact all other customers who arrive at the gate on time.
