Samsung Electronics Labor Talks Collapse; Union to Launch Strike Next Thu

The union will proceed with a general strike as scheduled, which could result in economic losses of KRW40 trillion (approximately HKD209.1 billion) and affect the semiconductor industry. The government may consider exercising emergency mediation authority. The union demanded that management ensure transparency in the criteria for performance bonus distribution and abolish the cap on performance bonuses, but these requests were not accepted.
