2026-04-10 10:15:42 JP Morgan released a report stating that, although Chinese equities are not completely immune to the geopolitical uncertainties arising from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and tightening financial conditions, the broker viewed the MSCI China Index and the CSI 300 Index will still benefit from China's macro resilience, with central government-backed funding serving as a critical backstop. The broker maintained its base-case end-2026 targets of 100 points (implying 30% upside) for the MSCI China Index and 5,200 points (implying 17% upside) for the CSI 300 Index. Under a bear case, the targets would be 80 points and 4,000 points, respectively. JP Morgan favored long-term structural growth themes, including energy security such as NEV, ESS, power equipment and aluminum, as well as AI and robotics, complemented by energy-related sectors. It remained selective on the consumption space, focusing on demand from younger generations for physical and mental health products and services. It was relatively cautious on export-oriented stocks that are not related to energy security or AI, as these companies may face headwinds from global stagflation risks and/or US tariff-related investigations. JP Morgan's top picks in the China market were BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), NAURA (002371.SZ), MINIMAX-W (00100.HK), KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK), BANK OF CHINA (03988.HK), INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK) and CNOOC (00883.HK). ~ AASTOCKS Financial News Website: www.aastocks.com | |
