S Korean Won Busts Below 1,500 vs US Dollar for First Time Since 2009
2026-03-16 11:17:31 The South Korean won opened at 1,501 against the US dollar, before missing the 1,500 mark, being the first time since the 2009 global financial crisis that the won has busted below 1,500 against the US dollar during intraday trading, according to Yonhap News. The trough for the won was 1,491 against the US dollar, after which it rebounded to last trade at 1,497.
