2026-03-13 17:03:23 European bourses descended in early session on Friday (13th), as escalating Mideast tensions and inflation concerns undermined risk appetite. For economic data, France's February inflation rose 1.1% YoY, in line, while the UK's economic growth for the three months ending January grew by 0.2%, a miss. The US will later release January's PCE inflation data. The pan-European STOXX 600 dropped 5.51 points or 0.9% to 593.35. The UK's FTSE 100 fell 81 points or 0.8% to 10,223. France's CAC 40 shed 92 points or 1.2% to 7,892. Germany's DAX declined 235 points or 1% to 23,353. Spain's IBEX 35 slid 222 points or 1.3% to 16,917. Italy's FTSE MIB plunged 516 points or 1.2% to 43,940. Oils elevated, with Shell up 0.8%, and TotalEnergies, BP, and Repsol up 1.3-1.8%. Consumer stocks were soft, with Inditex, Burberry, and Air France-KLM each diving over 3%, and Kering down 2.8%. As to US stock futures, DJIA futures edged down 5 points to 46,716.
