2026-03-12 10:50:17 The market concerns about TENCENT (00700.HK) lagging behind its peers in the AI field are overdone, JP Morgan said in its report, viewing the recent de-rating as an opportunity to accumulate. JP Morgan believed Tencent remains the company with the most solid fundamentals among the Chinese internet companies covered by the broker. Even if it does not win the independent chatbot race, its positioning can still capture substantial value from AI. The market is overly focused on the superficial aspects of early-stage products, underestimating Tencent's ability to integrate AI into its existing high-frequency ecosystem, maintain its portal status, and monetize AI through multiple established profit pools. As investors gain confidence in Tencent's AI path being commercially credible, operationally pragmatic, and financially less risky than currently perceived, there is potential for multiple re-rating.
