WSJ: Iran Deliberately Spills War Across Middle East to Upend Global Supply Chains, Strike Back at Trump
2026-03-11 15:58:35 After Israel dealt a heavy blow to Iran in the 12-day war last June, Tehran launched a new high-risk strategy, The Wall Street Journal reported. Different from its previous two years of limited responses to foreign attacks, Iran has resolved to escalate conflicts across the region when provoked. Particularly by targeting Gulf states and disrupting the global economy, Iran aims to weaken US President Donald Trump's willingness to prolong or reignite future conflicts. According to the report, the strategy initiated by Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who died in an air attack recently, has been fully implemented across the Middle East over the past week. Less than two days into the fighting, Iranian missiles and drones had already struck every country in the Gulf region, and Iran has since then expanded its attacks to oil and gas facilities and targeted several ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The report cited Gulf officials warning that production disruptions could drive oil prices up to USD150 a barrel, which may spark a price shock in the US ahead of the November midterm elections. ~ AAStocks Financial News Web Site: www.aastocks.com | |
