2026-03-05 17:34:52 European bourses reverted up in early trading today (5th) after opening lower, as the market was watchful of the spread of Middle East conflicts and the impact of corporate earnings. Investors were on the sideline for the speech by ECB President Christine Lagarde and European retail sales data. The pan-European STOXX 600 edged up 0.5% to 615.77. The UK's FTSE 100 added 45 points or 0.4% to 10,612. The France's CAC 40 rose 29 points or 0.4% to 8,196. The Germany's DAX climbed 98 points or 0.4% to 24,304. The Spain's IBEX 35 advanced 183 points or 1.1% to 17,670. The Italy's FTSE MIB gained 221 points or 0.4% to 45,557. DHL's quarterly operating profit sank 1.3%, suppressing its stock price by 5.4%. Payment company Nexi's stock price dived over 11% after announcing its results, triggering a trading halt. Mining stocks fared well, with Glencore up 1.4%, Antofagasta up 1.8%, and Anglo American up 0.5%. For US stock futures, DJIA futures had previously grossed declines of over 200 points, but last narrowed to a decline of 15 points or less than 0.1%, at 48,781.
