BANK OF E ASIA: NPL Ratio for Commercial Real Estate Climbs to 8% at End-2025; Mkt Shows Signs of Stabilization
2026-02-13 15:47:15 Adrian Li, Co-Chief Executive Officer of BANK OF E ASIA (00023.HK), said he remains cautious on the outlook for Hong Kong's commercial real estate and will not rule out further impairments or provisions. However, there are signs of stabilization in prime office locations, such as Alibaba's recent purchase of an office building in Causeway Bay. Ivy Chan, BANK OF E ASIA's General Manager and Group Chief Risk Officer, added that the bank's non-performing loan (NPL) ratio for Hong Kong's commercial real estate rose to around 8% at the end of 2025.
