2026-02-11 17:24:06
The Democratic Republic of the Congo's copper exports mounted nearly 10% last year, rendering it the world's second-largest industrial metal producer after Chile, Bloomberg reported.

Congo's copper shipments were 3.1 million tons in 2024, but increased to 3.4 million tons in 2025, report said, citing data. Most of this production was by Chinese companies, including CMOC (03993.HK), which owns the country's first and third largest mines.

The country's second-largest copper mine, Kamoa-Kakula, is a joint venture between Canada's Ivanhoe Mines and China's ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK), with a production of 400,000 tons in 2025.
