G Sachs Expects AMD Data Center Biz to Maintain Robust Growth This Yr w/ Limited ST Operating Leverage
2026-02-04 14:50:06
Despite strong quarterly revenue and results guidance, which were offset by much higher-than-expected opex guidance, AMD (AMD.US) stock price was expected to decline, Goldman Sachs said in a research report.

Given the upbeat market sentiment, increased market share of server CPUs, continued advancement in AI infrastructure development, and the forecast of strong growth for MI455X in 2H, Goldman Sachs noted that investors have been actively preparing for positioning before the earnings release.

In the broker's anticipation, the group's data center business will continue to maintain robust growth momentum this year, given increased market share in servers and mass production of the MI400 series products. However, in wake of the group's substantial investment in software and systems for AI infrastructure development, its short-term operating leverage is considered limited.

Goldman Sachs maintained a Neutral rating on the stock and a target price of USD210. The broker could consider a more constructive stance if it gains incremental confidence on the revenue stream and execution timeline for this deal in the coming quarters.
