2026-02-04 10:38:30 Morgan Stanley released a research report adjusting its China and Hong Kong focus list and A-share thematic focus list, and adding CHALCO (601600.SH)'s A-shares and removing YANGTZE POWER (600900.SH). The broker expressed optimism about CHALCO as the largest aluminum producer in China, with a legal aluminum production quota of 8.15 million tons. The Company recently announced plans to form a joint venture with Rio Tinto to acquire nearly 69% equity in Companhia Brasileira de Aluminio. If the transaction is finalized, it will drive growth in CHALCO's green aluminum output and its exposure to overseas markets. Given factors such as the macroeconomic environment, weakening USD and limited growth in China's domestic output and overseas supply, Morgan Stanley forecasted that aluminum prices will remain high this year, with tight industry fundamentals, and production costs may slightly decrease.
