Stanchart Raises CN 2026 GDP Growth Forecast to 4.6%, Expects PBOC to Maintain Moderately Loose Monetary Policy
2026-01-07 16:29:25 Stanchart raised its China's economic growth forecast for 2026 from the original 4.3% to 4.6%, mainly reflecting the easing of tariff conditions and the continuous improvement in China's total factor productivity, Ding Shuang, Chief Economist for Greater China and North Asia at Stanchart, said. He expected the central bank to maintain a moderately loose monetary policy stance, lowered RRR by 25 bps in 1Q26, and continued to launch national bond trading operations throughout the year.
